Screening: Newtown

Join us at the 2016 Democratic National Convention for a special pre-release screening of Maria Cuomo Cole and Kim Snyder's NEWTOWN before it hits theaters this fall.

Filmed over the course of nearly three years, the filmmakers use unique access and never before heard testimonies to tell a story of the aftermath of the deadliest mass shooting of school children in American history on December 14, 2012. NEWTOWN documents a traumatized community fractured by grief and driven toward a sense of purpose. Joining the ranks of a growing club to which no one wants to belong, a cast of characters interconnect to weave an intimate story of community resilience.

2pm: Screening of NEWTOWN

3:25pm: Post-screening Panel and Audience Q&A

Moderated by Hunter Schwarz, Independent Journal Review National Political Reporter and co-author of The Political Edit, this unique panel will feature film director Kim Snyder and producer Maria Cuomo Cole, film subject and Sandy Hook parent Mark Barden, and Congressman Ted Lieu (D, CA-33).
